About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Freight Forwarding Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing airfreight processes, ensuring timely and compliant cargo handling, and coordinating with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cargo Handling and Coordination: Prepare run sheets for direct terminal collection and coordinate with drivers to arrange collection.
  • Milestone Updates: Update milestones for POD and note any expectations to add quality control events in the Tango system.
  • Import Freight Clearance: Ensure import freight is customs cleared before delivery.
  • Cargo Locating: Assist in locating misplaced cargo by tracing with terminals, customers' warehouses, and Schenker warehouse.
  • Daily Operations: Attend daily operation meetings, providing statistics on import and export shipments.
  • Customs-Held Shipments: Follow up with customs-held import shipments with brokers when required.
  • Customer Communication: Chase customers for additional clearance information.
  • Inspection Bookings: Arrange inspection bookings with brokers or external depots for required inspections.
  • Export Registration: Handle export registration and EDNs.
  • Airline Negotiations: Negotiate with airlines to secure best rates.
  • Airline Bookings: Arrange airline bookings with carriers in line with customs service requirements.
  • Email Pre-Alert Documents: Email export pre-alert documents to destination offices as required.
  • Cargo Lodging: Coordinate with drivers to lodge export cargo daily, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Cost Reserving: Ensure accurate cost reserving for terminal fees and airline fees on each shipment.
  • Email Response: Respond promptly to all incoming emails.
  • Labelling Courier Shipments: Label all courier export shipments collected by UPS.
  • AOG Desk Requests: Assist with AOG Desk requests such as completing registrations, carrier bookings, and transport courier bookings.
