Job Overview:

The Senior Accountant – Research role involves assisting with financial accounting and reporting to meet management and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate end-of-month financial reports for review by stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate payroll recording and perform reconciliations of payroll balances.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts and transactions, and account for foreign exchange movements.
  • Review the work of support staff to ensure entries are correct and submitted on time for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in accordance with the month-end timetable.
  • Assist with divisional statutory reporting, liaising with external auditors and completing audits on time.
  • Assist with the divisional budget process, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with GST and FBT returns, including calculations, reconciliations, and lodgement.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis.

About You:

  • We are seeking a passionate senior accountant who has experience in a large, complex organisation, is able to work in a team, and can prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or commerce.
  • CPA/CA qualified.
  • Commercial experience in a large entity – 5+ years post-qualified.
  • Experience as a Senior Accountant or Management Accountant is desirable.
