Job Opportunity: Public Policy Specialist

We seek a dedicated professional to coordinate and deliver policy, advocacy, government relations, and corporate communications activities.

The ideal candidate will contribute to public affairs and corporate communications strategies, develop and maintain media relationships, and manage policy initiatives with members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policy strategies aligning with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain strong media relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Collaborate with the national office and other divisions on shared activities.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions for government consideration.
  • Provide strategic advice on divisional activities and operations.
  • Support the Executive Director in committee and council matters.

  • Experience in policy development across sectors.
  • Media relations and public speaking skills.
  • Tight deadline management and timeline coordination.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

  • Leadership experience in small teams.
  • Relevant tertiary education in planning, politics, public affairs, or law.
