Operator - Transfer Station

  • Attractive hourly compensation with overtime potential
  • Permanent full-time position
  • Daytime hours – Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Position Overview

  • Manage onsite machinery and equipment as necessary (Loader and Excavator)
  • Ensure proper maintenance of machinery through pre and post-operation checks
  • Operate various vehicles in our heavy vehicle fleet, including hooklift and frontlift
  • Guide traffic within the transfer facility and assist customers with general inquiries
  • Oversee the placement of waste and recyclables to optimize resource recovery
  • Achieve recycling targets and minimize waste sent to landfills
  • Perform general labor and administrative tasks as assigned

Candidate Profile

  • Experience with loaders and excavators is preferred but not mandatory
  • LF forklift license is advantageous but not required
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Commitment to safety in a high-risk environment is essential
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via two-way radio
  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol testing
