Operator - Transfer Station

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transfer Station Operator to join our team at Cleanaway. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our transfer station.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Plant and Equipment: Safely operate onsite plant and equipment, including loaders and excavators, to ensure efficient and effective waste management.
- Pre-Start Checks: Conduct thorough pre-start checks on plant machinery to ensure it is in good working order.
- Vehicle Operations: Drive a variety of HR fleet vehicles, including hooklifts and frontlifts, to transport waste and recyclables.
- Traffic Management: Direct traffic within the transfer station and provide general information to customers as required.
- Waste Management: Control the placement of waste and recyclables being deposited by customers to maximize resource recovery.
- Performance Targets: Meet targets for recycling and diversion of waste from landfill.
- General Labouring and Administrative Duties: Undertake general labouring and administrative duties as directed by management.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Loader and Excavator Experience: Desired but not essential.
- LF Forklift Licence: Desired but not essential.
- Excellent Work Ethic and Attitude: A strong commitment to safety and a positive attitude towards work.
- Clear and Concise Communication: Ability to communicate effectively via two-way radio.
- Pre-Employment Medical: Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test.
