Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Poultry Farm Manager to join our production team. The successful candidate will have strong communication and time management skills, be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical knowledge and advice for raising poultry to produce eggs and meat.
  • Select and purchase high-quality poultry stock.
  • Advise and administer nutrition and water supplies.
  • Manage the proper disinfection process for poultry houses, cages, and nests.
  • Develop and implement vaccination programs for the poultry flock.
  • Inspect and dispose of or segregate infected poultry.
  • Clean, inspect, and pack eggs, and select and crate pullets and fryers for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate growth, feed, and production records.
  • Monitor and manage breeding fertility and incubation processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Agriculture or higher equivalent.
  • At least 3 years recent relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in animal husbandry, animal welfare, and legislation, poultry production, and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S).
  • Computer software skills an advantage.
