InfraBuild is a leading integrated steel manufacturing, distribution and recycling business in Australia, making steel using electric arc furnaces. We provide solutions for commercial and residential construction, large-scale infrastructure, and primary producers.

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $120,000 AUD to $180,000 AUD, depending on experience.

About the Role

This position plays a critical part in ensuring all issues are addressed promptly to create a sustainable business capable of meeting our customer promises. The Product Metallurgist is accountable for developing, maintaining, and improving product quality systems, including measurement and inspection processes, while aiding process control and driving improvement in cost and quality.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop clear directions, specifications, and procedures to ensure sustainable quality performance and control of the manufacturing process.
  • Act as the voice of the customer across the business and manage investigations into customer complaints.
  • Implement and monitor measures of key process variables and product characteristics, providing analysis and systems for operations to deliver quality products to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
  • Act as the NATA signatory.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Material Science.
  • Previous significant experience in product quality management.
  • A strong understanding of steelmaking and rolling mill processes.
  • Previous experience in Wire Rod Mills is highly regarded.
