About the Role

This critical position plays a vital part in ensuring timely resolution of all key issues to establish a sustainable business capable of meeting our promises to customers. As a Product Metallurgist, you will be accountable for developing, maintaining, and improving product quality systems, including measurement and inspection processes, while supporting process control management and driving improvements in cost and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in creating clear directions, specifications, and procedures to enable sustainable quality performance and control of the manufacturing process.
  • Act as the voice of the customer across the business and manage investigations into customer complaints.
  • Implement and monitor measures of key process variables and product characteristics while providing analysis and systems to enable operations to deliver quality products to our customers.
  • Develop effective communication skills between all levels of the business.
  • Act as the NATA signatory.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Material Science.
  • Significant experience in product quality management.
  • A strong understanding of steelmaking and rolling mill processes.
  • Prior experience in Wire Rod Mills is highly regarded.
