Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist Role

Our organization is seeking a professional with expertise in rehabilitation counselling, psychology, social work or occupational therapy to fill a key role in the occupational rehabilitation sector.

This diverse position offers flexibility and autonomy to manage daily tasks, supported by a strong team of healthcare professionals and a global corporate infrastructure.

As an Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist, you will provide comprehensive services to clients with various conditions, supporting them to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Effective case management with manageable caseloads and support from rehabilitation assistants.
  • Applying clinical knowledge to enhance return to work outcomes.
  • Collaborating with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs.
  • Working closely with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals.

You will also conduct assessments, including initial assessments, worksite assessments & vocational assessments, to support clients in their return to health, work & life goals.

Additionally, you will assist with consultancy services, such as group mental health training, employee assistance program services, and psychological functional capacity evaluations.

Key qualifications and requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in rehabilitation counselling, psychology, social work or occupational therapy.
  • General or provisional AHPRA registration or full ASORC membership or full AASW membership.
  • Previous experience working in occupational rehabilitation highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Compassion, kindness, and empathy.
  • A current QLD driver's license and access to own car with comprehensive insurance.
