The Gold Coast region is seeking a highly skilled individual to play a key role in facilitating effective school-to-work transitions.

As a Strategic Engagement and Transition Specialist, you will work closely with the Skills Development and Training Officer to address barriers preventing successful school-to-work transitions. You will develop a framework for transition between schools and industry, assist with the establishment of a manufacturing academy, and promote careers in manufacturing at individual schools or alliances.

You will also facilitate engagement between schools and the manufacturing industry by demonstrating the value proposition for both stakeholders, engage with industry stakeholders at events and meetings/workshops, and demonstrate commitment to core values of customer service, teamwork, open communication, leadership, and innovation.

You will be assessed on your capability and capacity for:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in education and training, particularly in school-to-work transition;
  • High level of written and verbal communication, presentation skills;
  • Research skills;
  • Experience in developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and development plans;
  • Supporting strategic direction; understanding the work environment and contributing to the development of work plans and team goals;
  • Achieving results; seeing tasks through to completion. Working within agreed priorities. Committing to achieving quality outcomes. Maintaining accurate records and files. Seeking feedback from supervisor to gauge satisfaction and seeking assistance when required;
  • Supporting productive working relationships; actively listening to colleagues and clients. Sharing information and ensuring others are kept informed of issues. Working collaboratively and operating as an effective team member;
  • Displaying personal drive and integrity; focusing on achieving objectives even in difficult circumstances. Remaining positive and responding to pressure in a calm manner;
  • Communicating with influence; confidently presenting messages in a clear and precise manner. Focusing on key points and using appropriate language. Structuring written and oral communication to ensure clarity
