City of Perth is seeking an influential executive leader to drive alignment, oversight, and innovation across the CEO Alliance and executive governance functions.

The Executive Director Governance and Strategy will lead a high-impact directorate encompassing Office of the Lord Mayor and Elected Members, Council Governance and Policy, Strategic Communications, and Strategic Advocacy and Policy.

This visionary leader will partner closely with the CEO, Lord Mayor, and Councillors to advance major strategic initiatives, foster organisational excellence, and ensure effective decision-making at the highest levels of the City's leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Shaping the City's strategic direction and reform agenda in a high-profile leadership role
  • Championing service excellence, corporate governance, and organisational performance
  • Representing the City in key stakeholder engagement across State and Federal Government

We are looking for a collaborative and politically astute executive with extensive experience delivering strategic outcomes within complex organisations.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong capability in corporate governance, compliance, policy development, and organisational performance
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
