">RED, a global consultancy expanding its ANZ footprint, is seeking an experienced ICT Infrastructure Design Engineer to join its Sydney office.
">This is a key client-facing role responsible for leading projects of varying sizes from concept through to delivery. The successful candidate will shape innovative engineering solutions, mentor junior team members, and strengthen our presence in the ANZ region.
">The production of high-quality ICT infrastructure design packages, including written report documents, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, and procurement packs, is a core responsibility of this role.
">Key Responsibilities:

- Produce ICT infrastructure design packages that meet the necessary standards of quality and technical excellence.">
- Develop 2D CAD design drawings and 3D Revit models in collaboration with Revit BIM team colleagues.">
- Represent RED at technical and design team meetings, customer meetings, professional design teams, and contractor teams.">
- Ensure specifications, drawings, and calculations meet project design briefs, industry, legal, and quality standards.">
- Coordinate ICT design with related engineering disciplines, such as electrical and mechanical.">
- Work towards timely successful team output and production.">
- Participate in meetings with clients and relevant project stakeholders.">
- Develop a clear understanding of client requirements from both a technical and operational standpoint.">
- Undertake peer and QA review of drawings (typically cabling systems, containment, cabinet elevation, comms room layout, active network diagrams).">
- Develop a deep understanding of structured cabling systems, data cabling containment systems, IP/Ethernet Data Network (LAN/WAN), Wireless Data Network (WiFi), Outside Plant (OSP), Telecommunication Network Infrastructure and Services, and other related technologies.">
- Ability to use AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Revit to a high competency level.">
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications Word, Excel, Visio, etc.">
- Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.">
- Good understanding of building design standards/regulations/codes and relevant IT systems certification standards.">
- Ability to prioritise own workload, work to deadlines, and problem-solve.">
- Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.">
- Technical ownership of work packages.">
- Good communication, presentation, and engagement skills.">
- Collaborative approach to teamwork.">
Requirements:
">A degree in Engineering with at least 2 years' experience in ICT infrastructure design engineering is required. Relevant certifications, such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, BICSI, Uptime Institute, are highly desirable.
">The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing ICT infrastructure design packages, leading teams, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
">They will also possess excellent communication and presentation skills, a collaborative approach to teamwork, and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
