Government Affairs Leader

The ideal candidate will drive Fortinet's Government Affairs strategy, priorities, and execution in Australia and New Zealand.

  • Develop and execute a government-focused strategy to build positive relationships with key governmental representatives, collaborate with the sales and marketing team, provide policy stewardship, and foster a strong relationship between Fortinet's security experts and government representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand and drive the government affairs program to contribute meaningfully.
  • Maintain strong relations with government officials for support and advice on cybersecurity matters.
  • Build effective relationships with key government representatives and represent Fortinet before industry coalitions.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic engagement in government arenas and policy discussions.
  • Collaborate with the Government Affairs team and Australian team to craft and execute a strategy that supports business goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish positive relationships with officials.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience including government affairs experience and ideally experience with cybersecurity solutions and policies across the Australian government.
  • High integrity and understanding of ethical rules and laws applicable to government affairs.
  • Solid understanding of public policy and the policymaking process.
  • Proven ability to execute plans and objectives in a cost-effective and strategic way.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to contribute and positive can-do attitude.
  • Organized and self-motivated, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
