The Instrumental Music Instructor will provide individual woodwind instruction to high-achieving students, preparing them for performances and exams, and writing end-of-term reports for parents.
The position may also involve managing and rehearsing the Nossal High School Ensembles.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver high-quality individual and group music instruction
- Manage the Nossal School Ensembles, including repertoire development, rehearsals, performance preparation, and related admin
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate technical expertise in instrumental music, particularly woodwind, and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Selection Criteria- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the teaching of instrumental music, particularly woodwind, to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels
- Possess technical expertise relevant to the position and demonstrate an ability to direct ensembles, choose appropriate repertoire, and engage with student interests to foster musical development
- Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, teachers, and the broader school community
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a committed team of educators and contribute to the development of the music program
- Proactively contribute to building and retaining instrumental music student enrolments and encourage student participation in ensemble programs
