We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning Specialist to join our team at Jacana School for Autism. As a Learning Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the effective implementation of tier 2 intervention and delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students with autism spectrum disorder.
Key Responsibilities- Model high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice, including the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
- Develop and implement whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
- Provide evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their effectiveness and development.
- Supervise and train student teachers and mentor and/or coach teachers to improve their practice.
- Develop and promote school-wide professional learning structures, processes, and protocols through Professional Learning Communities.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and the ability to model exemplary teaching practice.
- Experience in implementing and modelling high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage in collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
