About the Role

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer to join our team. As a Senior Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of our regulatory functions in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Undertake a range of compliance activities, including complaint assessment, intelligence gathering, audit analysis, enforcement, education, and stakeholder support
  • Plan and conduct investigations into alleged breaches of regulatory rules
  • Prepare investigation reports and briefings, and make risk-based recommendations to management on appropriate compliance actions
  • Plan, risk assess, and conduct regulatory site inspections
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in the formal conduct of investigations, with knowledge of contemporary investigation techniques, strategies, and legal requirements
  • Experience undertaking a range of compliance-related activities in a complex environment
  • Experience, knowledge, or qualifications in a relevant field, such as energy savings schemes and technologies, electrical/plumbing and drainage, or other relevant standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing skills and the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Ability to manage a case load, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
  • Willingness to travel and work at locations throughout NSW
  • Certificate IV (Government) Investigations or similar qualification, or preparedness to obtain the qualification through IPART-funded program
  • Current Australian driver's license
