Exceptional Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Theatre Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our theatre department.
About You- To be successful in this position, you will have completed a recognised Theatre Technician course and possess a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
- You will bring hands-on experience working in a clinical setting and have a solid understanding of peri-operative procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling you to connect effortlessly with colleagues, patients, and surgical teams.
- Deliver individualised patient-centred care, coordinating comprehensive care from admission through hospitalisation, incorporating discharge planning in the plan of care.
- Evaluate and record progress towards expected outcomes, revising the plan of care as necessary.
- Formulate and coordinate a plan of care in conjunction with the Visiting Medical Practitioner (VMP), making informed nursing judgements based on health status, physical examination, preference, care, and progress of each patient.
- Communicate patient response to treatment and care, documenting accordingly.

This is a full-time position within the Operating Theatre Department at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. Automatic progression to Theatre Technician Grade 2 will occur upon completion of Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Operating Theatre Support) and a satisfactory Performance Appraisal.
