Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across various hospital services.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our supportive and collaborative team located onsite in the Epworth Eastern Hospital Box Hill.

You will have the opportunity to further diversify your career in pharmacy and be exposed to a variety of multidisciplinary services including hospital services.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, dispense and supply medications for hospital inpatients and outpatients
  • Assist in processing and maintaining imprest levels, and managing hospital ward stock
  • Reconcile and manage prescriptions and patient medication discharge profiles
  • Provide support to patients, carers and hospital staff
  • Process PBS claims and assist in producing medication profiles to hospital patients on discharge
  • Confidently complete administrative and record keeping duties
  • Assist with patient account enquiries

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about delivering modern, patient-focused pharmacy services and has a strong passion for providing excellent customer service.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload effectively
  • Knowledge of the PBS and proficiency in using FRED dispense or other pharmacy dispense software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

Eligibility Requirements:

Previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian pharmacy is desirable, while previous experience working in an Australian Hospital or Community Pharmacy is essential.
