Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist - Senior to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-level occupational therapy clinical services to patients in need of extended inpatient care. Your expertise and compassion will play a vital role in promoting autonomy, self-determination, and independent living among our consumers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy assessment, collaborative treatment planning, and case management to patients with complex mental health needs
  • Provide intensive, developmentally appropriate, consumer-centred mental health interventions to promote recovery and independence
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols for the discipline and multidisciplinary team
Requirements
  • Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working in mental health settings, preferably in a secure unit environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
