Job Summary
The University of Adelaide is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lecturer to join our team in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting the student learning for Year 5 Rural Cohort medical students through the provision of weekly site-specific tutorials, pastoral care, and educational remediation.
About the Role
This is a fixed-term position, initially until December 2025, and is based in Ceduna. You will be responsible for contributing to the medical student assessment as part of a broader medical education team and contributing to the broader rural clinical school agenda of recruiting, supporting, and mentoring the next generation of rural health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide weekly site-specific tutorials to support student learning
- Offer pastoral care and educational remediation to individual students
- Contribute to the medical student assessment process
- Support the recruitment, support, and mentoring of rural health professionals
Requirements
- Current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A PhD equivalent qualification in Medicine (FACRRM/FRACGP) or evidence of rural practice experience and progress toward a Fellowship
- Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching of medical students
- Demonstrated commitment to working with Aboriginal staff, students, and health professionals to close the gap in health and educational outcomes
- High-level interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
