Job Role

Civil engineers at AECOM lead and deliver transport and general civil planning and design projects, building client relationships, and team leadership.

Main Responsibilities
  • General civil work including road design and urban precinct planning projects for government and private sector clients is undertaken by this role.
  • This job involves Project Manager / Technical Lead on a range of projects including business development, proposal writing, and bidding for civil infrastructure projects.
  • A key part of this position is collaborating with engineers across Australia to deliver key transport design services on transport infrastructure projects.
  • This role requires leading and mentoring junior team members, managing projects financially, and supporting regional team leadership.
  • This position contributes to team and strategic planning, working with internal stakeholders to drive success.
Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required, along with 12+ years experience in a consultancy, local council, or state government setting. Strong leadership potential with an interest in long-term growth within a global organisation is also necessary.

Extensive design and/or project management experience with civil infrastructure and transport projects for state government or local councils is preferred. Proven knowledge of Australian Standards and ability to apply technical knowledge to projects is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders are required. Ability to work collaboratively internally and with clients to develop and maintain networks is also necessary.

Skills Required

Technical Skills: Extensive experience in the following areas is desirable: civil infrastructure projects, Australian Standards, and transport projects.

Leadership Skills: This role requires strong leadership potential and excellent team management skills.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
