The Opportunity
We currently have a vacancy in our Transport Strategy and Planning team which leads the coordination of project planning and investment across our marine, road and rail networks. Through the strategic plans and program frameworks we deliver, we're at the forefront of shaping South Australia.

The vacancy is available for one of the following roles. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Business:

The Principal Engineer (PO4) drives strong collaboration and establishes strategic relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, to deliver on key Departmental transport infrastructure planning priorities.

The Senior Engineer (PO3) is accountable for managing strategic transport planning initiatives, projects and frameworks, that interface with the transport network and establishes strategic relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Both roles are responsible for driving the timely management of transport infrastructure planning projects and initiatives, and delivers expert professional services/advice/recommendations on transport planning matters including:

  • Strategic transport planning projects and cross-government initiatives that have Divisional, Departmental or Inter-Agency impacts.

  • Stakeholder case management and agency engagement functions related to the transport network and departments infrastructure.

  • Advice and inputs in key Divisional and Departmental plans, strategies, frameworks, benefits realisation and other business improvement activities.

Qualifications
Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or a

Degree in Planning providing eligibility for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.

The successful applicant will be appointed at the classification level commensurate with their skills and experience. Please refer to the attached role statements for further information including the technical capabilities required for each role.

Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
