About the Role

Our organisation is seeking a dedicated Counsellor to join our team in Toowoomba. We have two vacant positions available: one in Sexual Abuse Counselling and the other in General Counselling.

This is an opportunity to work with a motivated team guided by experienced managers. Our Counsellors deliver therapeutic services to children and young people, including assessments, evaluations, and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with line managers to identify client needs and deliver appropriate services within available resources.
  • Conduct assessments to inform therapeutic goals, intervention plans, casework, and client support.
  • Offer individual and family counselling using various therapeutic interventions to address identified issues.
  • Ensure culturally appropriate counselling for clients from diverse backgrounds.

About You

To be successful, you will possess:

  • A degree in Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • An understanding of family and/or individual counselling, particularly in areas of trauma, violence, and abuse.
  • A Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's License.
  • A Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) or ability to apply.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough.
