Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting local economies through initiatives that strengthen business, tourism, and placemaking.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering innovative programs and initiatives from the Economic Development Strategy and other relevant plans.

  • Developing and maintaining strong strategic partnerships with internal departments, local businesses, community groups, and external organisations.
  • Facilitating and managing local tourism networks and leading tourism initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality events, activations and placemaking projects to foster connections and increase footfall and beautify local centres.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering projects and initiatives aligned with strategic plans, including managing timelines and reporting outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, presenting to stakeholders, and preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, delivering creative solutions to address challenges and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business, economics or marketing related discipline and/or a related experience.
