Job Title: Website Communication Officer

The role of the Website Communication Officer is to enhance our digital media presence by contributing to the continual improvement of Council's website.

This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of website content, coordinating website improvement projects, and fostering effective communication with stakeholders to enhance the customer experience.


About the Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring web and PDF content adheres to best practice standards, including readability, SEO integration, and accessibility.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to source, edit, and approve content, fostering effective communication and negotiation.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures that align with Council plans and objectives.
  • Providing guidance to stakeholders to develop content that enhances the customer experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage content on Council's website to build its online presence and facilitate proactive communications with residents, the community, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate content requests and publication schedules to create user-friendly, accurate, and informative content in line with Council's branding and language guidelines.
  • Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of Council information across all platforms.
  • Continuously assess, monitor, and evaluate the website to identify enhancements for future development.
  • Analyse usage statistics and produce reports to inform communication strategy and direction.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant qualification and/or experience.
  • Current Driver's Licence Class C.
  • Demonstrated experience with Content Management System platforms and web development (Drupal or equivalent).
  • Understanding of SEO and Google Platforms.
