Cancer Care Specialist

Our hospital is a contemporary facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community. This includes surgery, emergency department, intensive care, birthing, and cancer centre.

Job Description:

Part-time Clinical Nurse Consultant will provide leadership in the development of clinical practice that reflects the McGrath Model of Care and cancer services at our hospital. The role involves supervising patient's cancer journey for those receiving treatment at our institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an expert clinician in cancer care services.
  • Engage directly with patients to plan and navigate their investigations and treatments.
  • Provide expert advice to patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.
  • Support the delivery of multidisciplinary care for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Coordinate education for patients and carers.
  • Lead evidence-based nursing clinical practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate qualification in the speciality field.
  • At least 5 years full-time post-registration experience and at least 3 years' clinical experience in oncology, palliative care, or cancer stream-specific nursing.
