Cancer Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cancer Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with cancer.

The successful candidate will have recent post-registration experience in acute cancer nursing and demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice. You will be an effective communicator and team player who can work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cancer, consistent with hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that take into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote self-management and independence.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety, and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
  • Demonstrated recent post-registration experience in acute cancer nursing.
