Leadership Position in Crime and Intelligence Legal Services

This senior leadership role involves working in a dynamic environment with interesting operational work, implementing new powers, and supporting frontline officers to enhance community safety.

About the Role:

  • The Senior Legal Officer will provide specialist legal advice to investigators, senior officers, and members of the Senior Executive on complex aspects of investigations, policy, and other operational law enforcement initiatives.

  • The successful candidate will draft warrants and settle complex affidavits and applications, appearing on behalf of police officers and the Queensland Police Service as required.

  • They will liaise with internal units and external agencies, providing high-quality confidential advice and assisting in the development of training programs and projects.

Requirements for Success

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a barrister or solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

  • Enrolment or eligibility for enrolment to practice in the Federal and High Courts of Australia.

  • A degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualifications.
