We are seeking a seasoned administrator to fill the role of Senior Research Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to heart health initiatives that aim to improve the well-being of all Australians.

Key Responsibilities
  1. We coordinate funding applications annually, adhering to agreed parameters.
  2. The successful candidate will manage grant review committees and provide secretariat support, including minute-taking and agenda preparation.
  3. In collaboration with the research team, we work to coordinate and implement an annual research grants funding calendar.
  4. Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including academics, funders, and consumers, is crucial for success in this role.
  5. Record-keeping, report-drafting, and ensuring up-to-date funding guidelines and associated materials are essential tasks.
  6. New researchers will receive induction training to foster engagement with the research program.
  7. We continuously improve operating processes and procedures to optimize efficiency.
  8. Collaboration with other team members, both within and outside the research team, is vital for achieving our goals.

To excel in this position, you should have:

  1. Experience in program coordination and administration, preferably in a health or research context.
  2. Proven ability to plan and manage an annual work cycle.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. An aptitude for engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Prior experience in managing consumers or volunteers in a research setting is desirable.
  6. Proficiency in data management systems is also desirable.
  7. A deep understanding of the research sector, including governance, compliance, and processes, is beneficial.
