Job Title: Music Educator

As a member of the music education community, you will play a key role in developing, delivering and evaluating learning programs for students. Your goal is to provide high-quality music education services and support to government schools, promoting individual learning needs and contributing to the school's achievement goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver quality teaching and learning programs consistent with Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and relevant curriculum policies.
  • Support students through interaction and development of supportive learning environments and effective behaviour management practices.
  • Ensure the physical, social, cultural and emotional well-being and safety of students at school.
  • Regularly assess students for developmental, feedback and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain student records and report on performance to students, parents, the department and other stakeholders as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in music and education or demonstrated music teaching skills.
  • Ability to plan, prepare and deliver teaching and learning programs to meet diverse student characteristics, needs and learning styles.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching processes, including learning technology and assessment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students through interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies.
  • Commitment to maintain current professional learning and meet Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

You will also need to be registered with the Teachers Registration Board of the Northern Territory and hold a current Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card) from SAFE NT and NT Drivers License before commencing.
