Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating end of month reconciliations, managing procurement processes, and evaluating suppliers.

  • Coordinate end of month reconciliations with stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Manage and execute procurement processes for the laboratory and main office, ensuring timely acquisition of supplies and services.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish beneficial vendor relationships.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stakeholders to determine procurement needs.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure accuracy of documentation.
  • Track and analyze purchasing trends, expenses, and supplier performance.
  • Drive between locations as needed to facilitate procurement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand their requirements and provide procurement support.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Provide general site administration support.
  • Assist in invoicing, purchase orders, processing of contractor timesheets.
  • Organise rosters and travel arrangements.
  • Support mobilisation activities.
  • Maintain site records and registers.
  • Compile and update reports.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.

Requirements and Skills

  • Have analytical skills for evaluating technical products and services.
  • Be proficient in sourcing and vendor evaluation.
  • Have contract negotiation skills.
  • Have supply chain management knowledge.
  • Be skilled in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and Word for documentation.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to build relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Be able to identify and resolve issues.
  • Have a strategic problem-solving approach.
  • Be a team player with a positive work attitude.
