Medicines Policy and Strategy Lead

This is an opportunity for a pharmacist to drive innovation, standardisation and efficiency in medicines use. We are seeking a dynamic professional to lead the development of high-quality policies, procedures and guidelines that support safe and sustainable medicines use.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing a consistent approach to the creation, review and maintenance of all policies sponsored by the Director of Pharmacy, ensuring alignment with the Western Health Framework.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders will be essential in leading the development of internal pharmacy standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with departmental processes and operational workflows.
  • The successful candidate will also assist with the review and authorship of non-pharmacy sponsored policies, including collaboration with specialist pharmacists as required.
  • They will play a key role in supporting the implementation of sustainability initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality policies, procedures and guidelines that support safe and sustainable medicines use.
  • Lead the development of internal pharmacy standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with departmental processes and operational workflows.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish a consistent approach to policy development and maintenance.
  • Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives across the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy or relevant field.
  • Proven experience in policy development and management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
