The role of Executive Treaty Coordinator involves leading a team in supporting the department's coordination and engagement with the Victorian Treaty process. This includes providing input into the State's negotiation strategy and developing Treaty content relevant to the department.
This position requires strong working knowledge of Victorian Treaty processes, combined with expertise in policy, program, and project management. Effective stakeholder engagement and briefing skills are necessary for senior officials, including government departments and Aboriginal organizations.
Main Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership in the Treaty process on behalf of the department, acting as the primary point of contact between government departments and the department.
- Coordinate across the department and its portfolio agencies to deliver positions on Statewide Treaty negotiations to the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders across portfolios to coordinate advice and authorisation of department positions.
This role prioritizes Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants under the Special Measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
