Job Title: Specification Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specification Manager to join our Melbourne team at Laminex Australia.

This role plays a crucial part in gaining and maintaining specifications within the architecture and design space. You will be responsible for identifying market demand, executing sales strategies to enhance our presence and growth, and covering for a key team member on maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gaining and maintaining specification on commercial projects
  • Targeting architects and interior designers to secure specifications through consultative selling and understanding designers' requirements
  • Growth of existing accounts to maximize our service offering to customers
  • Building rapport and trust within the industry, networking at industry events and exhibitions, and positioning yourself as a trusted advisor
  • Monitoring specification through to the transactional execution of the sale
  • Working alongside internal stakeholders to ensure the optimum level of service is provided to clients
  • Conducting professional CPD and portfolio presentations to architects and designers showcasing Laminex's capabilities
  • Providing Laminex product and brand expertise, adapting our offering to the differing needs and drivers of individual stakeholder businesses
  • Effective communication and activity around new product development launches and any relevant insights or trends

Requirements:

  • A high level of autonomy and self-management skills to achieve specification and KPI targets
  • Experience with consultative and conceptual selling to architects, designers, and building professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to identify clients' needs
  • Enthusiasm and exceptional communication skills, prioritizing customer needs, and value managing projects throughout the end-to-end sales process
  • The ability to think strategically and look for growth opportunities
  • The ability to build rapport and relationships quickly
  • A team player and collaborative attitude
  • High level of computer literacy using systems like Microsoft Word, Excel, salesforce.com, and PowerPoint to enter data, process, and present information
  • Sales or business development experience
  • A strong network of architectural and specification professionals is advantageous
  • Interior design, design, or building industry expertise is advantageous
