
Patient Flow Leader

The position of Patient Flow Manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for ensuring seamless patient flow management within the facility. This involves coordinating and facilitating patient flow strategies to improve access to care.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff to reach their full potential. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are also essential in fostering close professional relationships with executive teams, clinical managers, peers and district managers.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinating and facilitating patient flow strategies to improve access to care.
- Providing leadership and guidance within the nursing and midwifery leadership team.
- Communicating effectively with staff and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
- Upholding the vision of the nursing and midwifery service by promoting compassionate care and leading effective work cultures.
- Supporting service development, oversight of practices, trends and indicators, and driving ongoing improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes.
Qualifications required for the role include:
- A current authority to practice as a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Demonstrated leadership as a resource person and role model in the clinical setting.
- Effective, person-centred communication and the ability to establish and promote collaborative relationships with facility-based teams, District and Hospital Executives and Departmental Managers.
