Overview

Patient Flow Manager (Nurse Manager Grade 3) - Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week. Location: Campbelltown Hospital, Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia.

The Nurse Manager Patient Flow is responsible for ensuring seamless patient flow management within the facility through the coordination and facilitation of patient flow strategies to improve the delivery and timeliness of access to care. This role promotes best practice through facility capacity and demand management processes and provides leadership within the Nursing and Midwifery teams.

As part of the Nursing and Midwifery leadership, you will bring vision and clarity, be an effective communicator, self-directed, and capable of inspiring, motivating and supporting people to reach their potential. You will uphold the vision of the Nursing and Midwifery service to provide compassionate care and lead an effective work culture that enhances patient and staff experience. You will contribute to innovative models of care and support the Transforming Your Experience strategy to deliver exceptional, safe, high-quality care.

The role involves guiding and overseeing service development, practices, trends, and indicators, with ongoing assessment and improvement of operational processes and clinical outcomes. The Patient Flow Manager will foster close professional relationships with executive teams, clinical managers, peers and district managers to achieve organisational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate patient flow strategies to improve the delivery and timeliness of access to care.
  • Provide leadership within the Nursing and Midwifery leadership team; communicate effectively and inspire staff to reach their full potential.
  • Uphold the vision of the Nursing and Midwifery service by promoting compassionate care and leading effective work cultures that transform patient and staff experience.
  • Support service development, oversight of practices, trends and indicators, and drive ongoing improvement in operational processes and clinical outcomes.
  • Foster relationships with executive teams, clinical managers, peers and district managers to achieve organisational goals.
Qualifications
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  • Demonstrated leadership as a resource person and role model in the clinical setting; ability to work with operational, corporate and clinical leaders to establish, progress and evaluate systems pertaining to performance, access and flow.
  • Effective, person-centred communication and the ability to establish and promote collaborative relationships with facility-based teams, District and Hospital Executives and Departmental Managers to monitor and improve relevant performance indicators (e.g., Emergency Treatment Performance, Transfer of Care, and Triage KPI).
  • Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those with a NSW C class license from another state must obtain a NSW license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.

  • Remuneration: $139,661.16 - $142,254.44 per annum.
