About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef de Partie to join our team at Hyatt Hotel Canberra. As a key member of our pastry department, you will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of pastries and desserts that meet our high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of desserts and pastries for our hotel's outlets.
  • Collaborate with our Head Pastry Chef to develop and update dessert menus.
  • Ensure all pastries and desserts meet quality standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Work closely with other departments and kitchens to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of desserts.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of pastry ingredients.
  • Train and oversee junior pastry staff and interns, providing guidance on techniques and workflow.
Requirements
  • Recent experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in hotels.
  • Experience in luxury international brands is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
  • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment.
  • Valid work rights in Australia.
