We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef de Partie to join our team at the National Portrait Gallery Canberra.

As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food production and quality control in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

You will work closely with our Sous and Head Chefs to develop and implement menus that showcase the best of Australian cuisine, while also ensuring that our food offerings align with the museum's exhibitions and events.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own section in the kitchen, ensuring efficient food production and quality control
  • Collaborating with the culinary team to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts
  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that all food is presented to the highest standards
  • Working closely with the purchasing team to source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory
  • Participating in menu planning and development, ensuring that our offerings are innovative, seasonal, and aligned with the museum's exhibitions and events
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chef de Partie who is passionate about cooking and committed to delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Qualifications in Cert III Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume cafe or events environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • A passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering exceptional results
  • Valid working rights in Australia
