Network Operations Team Lead Job Overview

This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise network operations. As a Network Operations Team Lead, you will be accountable for driving performance, capability development, and alignment with business priorities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing team of network engineers in managing and mentoring them to drive performance and capability development.
  • Provide tier 3/2 escalation support and technical validation, ensuring effective incident, problem, and change management processes are followed.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of enterprise-wide wired and wireless networks, including WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, VPN, data centre connectivity, firewalls, internet, and voice services.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational governance standards, regulatory frameworks, and audit requirements.
  • Manage external service providers and vendors, ensuring delivery against SLAs, contract performance, and cost efficiency.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, or a related discipline.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP (Enterprise, Security, Wireless) or equivalent vendor qualifications; Palo Alto, Fortinet, or SD-WAN certifications highly regarded.
  • ITIL certification (Foundation or higher) preferred, with demonstrated application of ITIL processes in a complex operational environment.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience managing enterprise network operations across WAN, LAN, wireless, firewalls, and data centre connectivity, including multi-site, high-availability environments.
