Senior Cyber Infrastructure Engineer

About the role:

  • Provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of cyber security tools, including SOAR (security orchestration, automation, and response) and SIEM (security information and event management).

The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with key third party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust infrastructure capability to the agency and liaising with architecture and shared services areas to ensure the security of the day-to-day technical operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of an optimal strategic system landscape
  • Design, installation and operation of the ICT system instance landscape, client and transport processes.
  • Broad technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities.
  • Non-functional platform capabilities, including job scheduling, output management, email, archiving, technical security, technical connectivity between software components.
  • Liaison with the infrastructure team in the design, procurement and deployment of hardware and related assets.
  • Maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layers, preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Operation of backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for ICT systems and administration of the database solution.
  • Resolution of sensitive and/or escalated customer and stakeholder issues that adversely impact on policy, performance and/or customer service, including disaster/emergency situations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and demonstrated experience of enterprise-scale gateway architecture and implementation as it applies to the design, development and operation of highly available, high volume digital services and integrations, as well as a strong understanding and experience of intra-data centre networking and the relationship of this to large, complex and enterprise scale systems.
