Library Support Services Team Leader

As a Team Leader within our Cultural Engagement & Library Services Business Unit, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries, delivering high-quality, customer-focused services, research, programs, and collections.
In this role, you will lead the team responsible for providing welcoming spaces and customer interactions at Council's branch libraries, as well as staff training and roster management. The role is part of the Library Customer Experience leadership team that supports staff skills development and excellent customer experiences across all library service points.
This role is primarily based at Hurstville Library and will involve other locations as required.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the team responsible for providing welcoming spaces and customer interactions at Council's branch libraries
- Manage staff training and roster
- Contribute to the efficient and effective operations of Georges River Libraries
- Deliver high-quality, customer-focused services, research, programs, and collections
- Permanent, Full-time position
- Full-time salary from $87,770.80 - $101,695.64 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
- 9-day fortnight subject to operational requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science or equivalent
- Current Working with Children check
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (Class C)
- Demonstrated experience maintaining staff rosters or work schedules for multiple staff
- Demonstrated experience in providing a quality customer-focused service
- Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs for staff
- Demonstrated analytical, time management, organisational, financial, project management, and creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in supervising a team, including an ability to provide performance feedback, guide others through change, and implement innovative approaches
- Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including effective negotiation, consultation, and consensus building
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as content management systems and technology in a public library or equivalent setting
- Leadership experience in a public library
- Experience leading projects with a diverse and multicultural client base
- Experience in troubleshooting library equipment, including public access computers
- Experience in marketing or promotion of Library services, events, and programs
- Ability to speak an identified community language, such as Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Greek
