Job Title: Learning Specialist

The Victorian Institute of Teaching has a career opportunity for an experienced and dedicated educator to join our team as a Learning Specialist.

This role will involve providing professional learning opportunities for teachers, supporting the development of school-wide initiatives, and contributing to the growth and achievement of students across the curriculum.

  • Modeling exemplary teaching practices through demonstration lessons and mentoring/coaching other educators to improve their effectiveness.
  • Developing processes and protocols for observation and feedback of teacher practice, ensuring that all staff receive constructive and actionable feedback to inform their development.
  • Collaborating with teachers and school leaders to design and implement high-impact learning strategies that respond to student needs and promote academic excellence.
  • Providing evidence-based feedback to teaching staff, using data to inform instruction and drive student growth and achievement.
Selection Criteria:

Required Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Qualifications in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven expertise in curriculum design and delivery, with a focus on literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
