Therapy Assistant Role Overview

The Therapy Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality therapy services to clients in their own homes, community offices, and day therapy centers.

This position requires strong person-centered skills, planning, and organizational abilities. Experience working as a Therapy Assistant, particularly in the community, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will actively contribute to the development and implementation of programs that meet the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of our community clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist clients with group and individual intervention programs designed to maintain and/or improve independence and function under the guidance of physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
  • Deliver programs at Day Therapy Centers and clients' homes using a reablement approach.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of therapy care plans.
  • Assist clients in maintaining or improving functional independence.
  • Complete documentation contemporaneously.
  • Provide feedback to therapists on the outcome of interventions.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Allied Health or higher qualification - essential.
  • Experience working as a Therapy Assistant - desirable.
  • Experience working in Aged Care - desirable.
  • Strong person-centered skills and ability to engage with clients of all abilities.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Competency providing a range of therapeutic interventions/activities to clients individually and in a group.
  • Current Australian driver's license and reliable vehicle - both essential.
