Medical Officer Role

This is a unique opportunity for a medical professional to step into a well-supported and meaningful role that prioritizes clinical quality, staff wellbeing, and community engagement.

We are seeking a Career Medical Officer to join a multidisciplinary team providing early intervention mental health support to young people aged 12–25.

The successful candidate will provide clinical oversight, mental health assessments, collaborative care planning, and medication management as part of a progressive model focused on recovery, accessibility, and continuity of care.

This is a non-hospital-based role that offers a rare opportunity for a doctor to apply their clinical expertise in a flexible, community-based setting, without the demands of shift work or on-call rosters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychiatric and general medical assessments for young people aged 12–25
  • Support treatment planning, medication management, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate closely with psychologists, care coordinators, and social workers to deliver comprehensive care
  • Contribute to clinical reviews, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support service evaluation activities
About You
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification and registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner
  • Experience or interest in youth mental health, general practice, or early intervention services
  • A person-centred approach to clinical care, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork
  • Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient outcomes
  • Interest in continuity of care and long-term outcomes over acute presentations
