Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. You will work in diverse settings, from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres.

You will utilize assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding. Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends) is crucial for your success in this role.

  • You will develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, utilising positive behaviour support framework
  • Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
  • Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters or Graduate Diploma) in a field such as Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Psychology or related field
  • Relevant registration (e.g. AHPRA, SPA, AASW)
  • At least 24 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • A positive and flexible approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth
  • A valid Australian drivers license
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Working with Children's Check
