Job2Go Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Chef to join their Italian restaurant team in VIC.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Italian cuisine and the ability to develop and design innovative menus. They will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will also supervise kitchen staff and support their training and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design innovative and seasonal menus that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary requirements.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate food to the highest quality standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and support their training and development.
  • Ensure kitchen operations are efficient, maintaining cleanliness, adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, and proper food handling.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
  • Maintain relationships with food suppliers and ensure the quality of ingredients used.
  • Stay updated on current culinary trends and techniques to keep the menu innovative and exciting.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment through leadership and communication.
  • May freeze and preserve foods.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality
  • Prior experience preparing Italian Cuisine would be highly regarded
  • At least two (2) years of relevant prior experience as a Chef.
