Child and Family Policy Specialist

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive child and family policy framework to drive organisational change and improve outcomes.
  • Lead the development of practice agendas that align with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Translate regulatory and contractual changes into actionable policy and practice recommendations.
  • Embed governance and training in policy and practice to ensure consistency and excellence.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualifications in community services and at least 5 years' senior operational experience in child and family services.
  • Sound understanding of legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements related to child and family services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of practice changes across a large organisation, including building relationships, gaining support, and securing resources.
  • An ability to integrate trauma-informed or therapeutic practices into policy and practice.
  • Experience in leading collaboratively with a team-based structure to confirm team priorities, goals, and outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, including the ability to engage and present complex information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing plans and schedules to describe and prioritise team priorities and measure delivery and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse information and generate high-quality executive/board-level papers and reports.
  • A strong desire to co-create strategies, activities, and models that improve outcomes for individuals and communities.
