Vegetation Ecologist Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vegetation Ecologist to join our team of environmental experts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of natural resource planning projects, including wetland assessments and vegetation inventories.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology, ecology, or a related field, and will be proficient in British Columbia's biogeoclimatic ecosystem classification system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct wetland assessments and vegetation inventories with a focus on communities and species of concern.
  • Develop environmental assessments and mitigation plans for municipal, provincial, and federal regulators in multiple sectors.
  • Work on a variety of natural resource planning projects, including natural area inventories and biophysical assessments.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in British Columbia's biogeoclimatic ecosystem classification system.
  • Advanced skills in technical writing and project execution.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment under deadlines and lift 50lbs.
