
Clinical Documentation Specialist

Clinical coding specialists play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely coding of patient data, which is essential for effective healthcare management. In this position, you will be responsible for clinical coding using ICD-10-AM and assigning Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) with high accuracy and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Timely and accurate clinical coding using ICD-10-AM
- Assignment of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG)
- Participation in casemix analysis, education & quality activities
- Staying up-to-date with current relevant clinical coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards
- Improvement of clinical documentation
- Participation in audits as necessary
Requirements for the role include:
- Authority to Work in Australia
- HIMAA certification in Clinical Coding or equivalent, with minimum 2 years' experience using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS
- Experience in clinical coding across a range of DRGs with demonstrated high coding quality skills
- Experience in ICD-10-AM 13th Edition
- Up-to-date with current Clinical Coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards
- Sound understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG)
- Sound understanding of Solventum Codefinder software
- Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently unsupervised and within a team environment
- Sound Knowledge of private sector funding models
- Demonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information system
