As a dedicated family support worker, you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to families with diverse needs in a culturally sensitive manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport clients to services and appointments
  • Ensure families can access appropriate services and encourage participation in discussion, counselling or support groups
  • Collaborate with social workers to develop holistic plans by establishing family assessments, safety plans, goals and interventions to ensure safety and wellbeing
  • Work with people and families with disabilities and adapt to different situations quickly
  • Be proficient in English and speak at least one other language
  • Have local knowledge of services offered in the Gold Coast area and knowledge of local community and neighborhood
  • Will participate in ongoing training and professional development
Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant tertiary level qualification in education, science-related discipline or related field
  • Certificate IV in Community Services or above
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to adapt scientific and educational knowledge into practical training programs
  • 1 year experience supporting children and families with complex needs
  • Ability to manage multifaceted tasks and assessments
  • Get along with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Understanding of community's cultural diversity
